Kamal has been spearheading top global and Indian brands as President & CEO for nearly two decades and, since 2014, he is the President & Managing Director of the Swedish major’s Indian outfit, Volvo Group India, headquartered in Bangalore. A distinguished alumnus of IIT Roorkee’s 1981 batch,Kamal did his schooling from St. Joseph’s Academy, Dehradun.With an illustrious career spanning four decades, predominantly in the automotive & engineering industry, Kamal has worked for well-known Indian brands (such as EICHER and ESCORTS) and established multinational corporations in India, including the Italian major, ‘SAME DEUTZ-FAHR GROUP’ as also Singapore Technologies Kinetics (STK). He has accumulated precious cross-functional knowledge, is respected for his values’-based leadership and professionalism with strong ethos.

Recently, Kamal was Knighted and awarded one of Sweden’s highest honours in the Royal Order of the “Polar Star: Commander” by Their Majesties, the King and Queen of Sweden for his untiring support to the Swedish commerce & industry in India. He is also the recipient of the prestigious “2019 Machinist Lifetime Achievement Award” by the Times of India Group for his outstanding contribution in the field of Manufacturing. Based in Bangalore for the last two decades, Kamal is married to Gina who is Masters in English
Literature, has a son who is a commercial pilot, and his daughter is an educator in an international
school. He loves driving in the hills and, on most weekends, he tries to dabble with a game of golf.
