Rampant, unchecked illegal cattle trafficking, cruelty and disregard for life and property are to blame. In the last four days over 1,000 gauvansh have been saved from not only inhumane conditions but also from the clutches of cattle mafia, from different districts of Telangana. Saved by the joint effort of Gau Gyan Foundation and Telangana Police (FIR copies attached). The appalling conditions from which they were rescued will break your heart.What’s even more shocking are the recent developments in the state that are only going to make matters worse. The Hyderabad city Police Commissioner along with the DCP and ACP held a meeting with illegal traffickers and meat mafia, where it was discussed that cow and calf will not be allowed to enter, but bulls will be allowed. However, as per law slaughtering bulls is illegal if they do have a certificate from a competent authority. The butchers are openly giving speeches that the police are on their side and to call them from the Police Station if trucks are stopped; they are also asking their goons to run over people.
They are calling police and recording them threatening officers and then putting it over social media to show their clout. A clear violation of the law.They also announced that if any private person stops vehicles, cases will be book on them. The police are booking false cases on those who are following law CrPC 43, Directive Principles of State Policy clearly say to respect views of freedom fighters who gave their lives for country, one clear view was cow and its progeny protection, in Telangana this is a mockery.The blatant disregard for the law continues. There is an assistant veterinary surgeon who is issuing the certificate randomly without even examining the bulls which is illegal. As per the law only an assistant director rank or above can issue the certificate. Assistant veterinary surgeon certificate which they are issuing is invalid as he is not the competent authority.
Law has become a joke in Telangana. Two vehicles at Sanga Reddy and one vehicle at Shamshabad were released after animal rescuers were assured that the cases will be booked. What’s even more shocking to see is that the permit and fitness certificate had expired a year back for the vehicle from Shamshabad. Attached id the RTA certificate.Are these mafia people paying any taxes? It’s a trillion-dollar business 100 percent illegal and all money is black, why is the government looking the other way? Why has the income tax department not sent them notices?
Not a festival
Take a look at these pictures (attached). Does it look like a festival? Could this ghastly site be, in any way, associated with anything positive or auspicious? According to Islam if animals have been subjected to cruelty in their breeding, transport, slaughter, or in their general welfare, meat from them is considered impure and unlawful to eat (Haram). The flesh of animals killed by cruel methods (Al-Muthiah) is carrion (Al-Mujaththamah). Even if these animals have been slaughtered in the strictest Islamic manner, if cruelty was inflicted on them otherwise, their flesh is still forbidden (Haram) food:“Oh, ye messengers! Eat of the good things {tayyibat} and do righteous deeds. Surely, I know what you do.” (Qur’an.23:51).“Oh believers! Eat what We have provided for you of lawful and good things, and give thanks for Allah’s favour, if it is He whom you serve” (Qur’an 2:172; 16:114).These are not religious people, these are traffickers, who in the garb of festival, are carrying out these mass murders.
Know the Law
Honorable Supreme Court held vide its judgement passed in the matter titled ‘State of Bengal, etc, Appellants v. Ashutosh Lahiri and the others, Respondents’, being Civil Appeals Nos. 6790 of 1983 with 6791 to 6794, that slaughtering of healthy cows on bakrid day is not essential or required for religious purposes of muslims and hence cannot be exempted under State law or under Article 25.Telangana State Prohibition of Cow Slaughter and Animal Preservation Act 1977 (Sections 3, 5, 6, 10, 11), PCA act 1960 (Sections 11, 38), Transport of Animals Rules 1978 (Section 56 A, B, C) and IPC 428 and 429 – all point that the activities of the mafia are illegal and punishable under Indian Law.
Violating all civil, criminal and moral laws, these murderers have the audacity to go to the Home Minister seeking legitimacy for their gruesome acts. They fear neither the law of the land, nor the gods above. It is high time they are pinned down and their nefarious business is shut down completely.We will not even let goats be slaughtered, cows and bulls are a far cry. If this is not stopped, we will go till the Honorable Supreme Court. We will create so much awareness, not just in India, but all over the world, that they will be forced to stop.
