365Telugu.com Online News, Hyderabad, October 21, 2022: A task force team along with the Shahinayatganj police busted a hawala money racket on Thursday evening. The task force team arrested four persons on charges of conducting hawala transactions in and around Hyderabad and seized unaccounted cash of Rs.1.1 crore and four mobile phones from them.
Among those arrested are Kamlesh (47), Ashok Kumar (35), Rahul Aggarwal (28), Ratan Singh (25), traders from Goshamaha, Ghansi Bazar and Shahinayatganj. The main accused, Kamlesh Kumar, who runs a plastic business in Begambazar, turned his attention to hawala business in the city due to lack of profits in his business, police said.
“He shared his plan with his colleagues who agreed to help him run the hawala racket on a commission basis. They helped in collecting the money and delivering it to the customers,” said a senior police officer.
Acting on a tip-off, the police nabbed this hawala gang as part of vehicle checks at MJ Bridge in Jummerat Bazar. When they did not get satisfactory answers, they were detained and the cash was seized. Further investigation is ongoing.
