Spread the News online news, April 23rd,2023: The megalodon is an extinct species of shark that lived approximately 2.6 million years ago during the Cenozoic Era. It is considered to be one of the largest and most powerful predators to have ever existed, with estimates suggesting that it could reach lengths of up to 60 feet (18 meters) and weigh as much as 100 tons.

Megalodons had massive, serrated teeth that were up to 7 inches (18 cm) long, which they used to prey on large marine animals such as whales and dolphins. They likely had a very broad diet and were capable of consuming a wide range of prey.

Despite their impressive size and power, megalodons eventually went extinct, with the cause of their extinction still being debated by scientists. Some theories suggest that they were unable to adapt to changes in their environment, while others suggest that competition with other predators or a decline in their prey populations may have played a role.
